Community Event Sponsorships

A community event is a one- to two-day event with proceeds benefiting Moonlight Cultural Foundation (MCF).

Community events are not promotions, partnerships, or cause-marketing campaigns. Community events cannot be based on cash boxes, coin drops, can donations, soliciting door-to-door, or at random locations in your community.

MCF community events must reflect positively on MCF and must abide by all local, state, and federal laws, including those that cover raffles. Typical events include: food and wine, business networking, golf tournaments, sporting events, walks or runs , fashion shows, car shows, holiday events.

COMMUNITY EVENT SPONSORSHIP FAQ

NAMING YOUR EVENT

Event names should be a creative way to identify your event. You can use the verbiage ‘benefiting Moonlight Cultural Foundation or ‘in support of MCF throughout your event collateral.

To help protect our trademark and to avoid confusion with MCF Alumni and donors, we ask that your event name does not include ‘Moonlight Foundation,’ ‘Moonlight Cultural Foundation,’ ‘MCF or ‘Broadway’s Best Under the Stars!’ in the title.

MOONLIGHT CULTURAL FOUNDATION LOGO

Although we provide MCF branded materials featuring the MCF logo upon registration, you may not create your own materials using MCF trademarks.

REGISTRATION FEE

  • The $25 registration fee covers the MCF-branded promotional materials.
  • Depending on what items MCF has available at the time of your event, you will have a choice of a fixednumber of bracelets, stickers, brochures, flyers, lapel pins, and magnets based on your event size.

EVENT DESCRIPTION

It is critical to provide as much information as possible in the description field of the registration form.

Clearly explain how your event funds will be raised. For example, “I am hosting a bowling event and will be raising money for Moonlight Cultural Foundation through donations and a silent auction,” would be approved.

“Fundraiser for MCF,” would be rejected because not enough information was provided. Your application may be rejected if you do not provide enough information.

MCF is unable to approve an event that markets that a “percentage” or “portion” of “proceeds” or “sales” will be given to MCF, as this type of effort relates to cause marketing. On your application, please state that you’ll be "making a donation to Moonlight Cultural Foundation” or that your event will be “benefiting Moonlight Cultural Foundation.”

HOW EARLY SHOULD I REGISTER?

You should register your event 6-8 weeks prior to event date.

I REGISTERED AND HAVEN’T HEARD ANYTHING. WHY?

Here are some situations that may have occurred:

  • If you were not taken to a confirmation page and given a reference ID number after registering, you did not fully complete your registration and will have to re-register.
  • Check your spam or junk folder. Our approval email may have been directed there by mistake.
  • Your email address may have been entered incorrectly; please email us so our team can fix this for you or if you have any additional questions.

DOES MY EVENT HAVE TO BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC?

No. When registering, you have the option to make your event public or private. You can find this option on the registration form.

WHAT IF I AM PARTICIPATING IN AN EXISTING EVENT?

Many MCF supporters are not only passionate about theatre, but also are driven to compete in individual events such as triathlons, marathons, sporting tournaments, etc. You can raise awareness and funds for MCF while participating in a community-sporting events throughout the community.

WHAT IF MY SCHOOL/CLASS/CLUB WANTS TO SUPPORT MCF?

If you are a student or a teacher, we invite you to become part of MCF’s Student Ambassadors initiative here. Student Ambassadors allows you to receive a special school focused support kit containing tools and tips to start a campaign, MCF swag, and marketing tools and is geared towards schools’ athletic programs, classes or clubs.

MAY I GET EXTRA MATERIALS?

To remain fiscally responsible, we ask our supporters to work their best with the materials allotted. The registration process is directly linked to your amount of promotional pieces. We do have printable flyers and brochures you are welcome to use.

CAN I HOST AN EVENT WITHOUT REGISTERING OR PAYING THE FEE?

No. All community events must be registered and approved.

I HAVE MORE THAN ONE EVENT PLANNED OR AN EVENT IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS. DO I STILL NEED TO REGISTER?

Yes. Please register each event separately with us.

MINE ISN’T REALLY AN ‘EVENT.’ DO I NEED TO REGISTER?

If your event is a one-time fundraising event for MCF, please register. If your fundraising efforts fall outside of community events, please take a look at our give back page for other options.

ONCE I REGISTER, DOES MCF SUPPORT MY EVENT?

Once registered, you can post your event on the MCF Facebook wall. Community events will also be listed on our events calendar.

I NEED AN ELECTRONIC COPY OF THE MCF LOGO. HOW CAN I GET THIS?

However, once you register, this does authorize our name in the format of ‘benefiting Moonlight Cultural Foundation or ‘in support of MCF.’ Additionally, the materials we provide are Moonlight Cultural Foundation branded.
